The History and Future of the World Trade Organization by Craig VanGrasstek is a comprehensive account of the economic, political and legal issues surrounding the creation of the WTO and its evolution. Fully illustrated with color and black-and-white photos dating back to the early days of trade negotiations, the publication reviews the WTO's achievements as well as the challenges faced by the organization, and identifies the key questions that WTO members need to address in the future. 

Please join us for a discussion with author, Craig VanGrasstek, and distinguished panel to celebrate the launch of this comprehensive book. Panelists will include Alejandro Jara, former Deputy Director General of the WTO, Debra Steger, Professor of Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa, Aluisio de Lima Campos, Chairman, ABCI Institute and Adjunct Faculty, American University Washington College of Law,  Jennifer Hillman, former WTO Appellate Body Member, C. Christopher Parlin, Adjunct Professor and Deputy Director, Institute of International Economic Law (IIEL), Georgetown University Law Center.   The moderator will be Padideh Ala’i, Professor of Law, American University Washington College of Law
