Description
This is a legal Spanish class for JD students with an intermediate to proficient level of Spanish. The class will be taught entirely in Spanish and it will cover the basic concepts of the continental legal system as practiced in Latin America. At the end of the seminar, students should be able to read a contract, a decision or piece of legislation from a Latin American country and have a legal understanding of it. Reading materials will be posted each week in MyWCL which will include decisions and scholarship from Latin American and European scholars.
The class will be taught by Ms. Katherine Kettlewell, Mexican attorney and currently a counsel at the International Settlement of Investment Disputes ICSID. The syllabus for the class will be posted shortly.
