Description

Provides an introduction to the legal protection of historic sites and artifacts by examining the application of such federal statutes as NEPA, the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Marine Sanctuaries Act, the Archaeological Resources Protection Act, and the Native Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. The issues studied include the preservation and management of historic sites, archeological resources, Native American artifacts, and historic shipwrecks; and criminal, civil, and administrative remedies.
