Description

This seminar is also available as a 2 credit course offering for those students who are not taking the field component but have an interest and have or hope to gain experience in the IP, communications and technology fields. The journaling and supervision requirements of 769-12 will not apply. The seminar will explore some of the roles lawyers play in the various practice settings in these dynamic fields. Simulations will be used to explore various aspects of lawyering in this area, the public interest dimensions of these fields, as well as the pragmatic and personal challenges inherent in the transition from student to lawyer. This seminar will provide students with an opportunity to engage in critical reflection about the legal profession, their own future legal careers, and their priorities and values as lawyers practicing in these fields.
