Description

An examination of the ways in which Congress, the FDA, and the courts have gone about regulating the food, drug, cosmetic, and medical device industries. The course will focus on the historical development of food and drug law, as well as on current issues involving, among other things, carcinogens and risk assessment in food safety; regulation of nutrition; and approval of new drugs, devices, and vaccines for infectious diseases.
