Description

An examination of cases and materials pertaining to the Internal Revenue Code as applied to individuals.

The casebook is Graetz and Schenk, FEDERAL INCOME TAXATION, PRINCIPLES AND POLICIES (6th ed. 2009). In addition to the casebook, you must have a copy of the 2012-2013 CCH edition of FEDERAL INCOME TAX CODE AND REGULATIONS - SELECTED SECTIONS. Please try to bring both the casebook and the Code to class.

First Class Readings

Please read pages 1-4, 12-15, 21-23, 23-46, 56-74, and 85-88 of the casebook during the first two weeks of class. The material will introduce you to many of the themes that we will discuss throughout the semester. This is required reading.
