Professors to Address Fellow Legal Educators at Annual Conference
Nine American University Washington College of Law Professors – including Dean Claudio Grossman – are presenting at the 61st annual meeting of the Southeastern Association of Law Schools July 27-Aug. 2 in Palm Beach Florida. WCL professors will speak on panels ranging from “Revamping the Law School Curriculum” to “Alternative Visions of the Judicial Role.” Below is the complete list of speakers and topics.
- Professor Darren Hutchinson is speaking on a panel about “Law and Sexuality,” Sunday, July 27.
- Professor Heather Hughes is speaking at a New Scholars Workshop, July 28.
- Associate Dean Billie Jo Kaufman is participating on a panel discussion about “The Nuts and Bolts of Research and Writing” and is acting as a conference mentor on digital document preservation.
- Professors Stephen Vladeck and Amanda Frost are leading a roundtable on “Alternative Visions of the Judicial Role,” July 29. Vladeck is also serving as a conference mentor.
- Professor Dennis Ventry is speaking at a New Scholars Workshop on tax law, July 30.
- Professor Angela Davis is a panelist on “The Phases of the Duke Lacrosse Controversy” July 30 which will discuss this complicated legal and social controversy and its various phases.
- Associate Dean Mark Niles is speaking on a panel about “Revamping the Law School Curriculum,” July 31.
- Dean Claudio Grossman is moderating a panel discussion on “Internationalization of Legal Education: Best Practices for International Programs,” July 31.
