WCL Public Interest Student & Alumnus Honored With Fellowships The WCL Office of Public Interest recently had both a current student and alumnus acknowledged for their exceptional public interest work. Rising 3L student and Public Interest/Public Service (PIPS) Scholar Gillian Chadwick was awarded the Peggy Browning Fellowship, for which she will spend 10 weeks this summer working at the DC Employment Justice Center; Gillian was picked from over 300 applicants from over 100 participating schools. Alumnus Jim Ferg-Cadima ('01), was selected to be a Wasserstein Public Interest Fellow for Harvard Law School; the Wasserstein Program selects outstanding public interest attorneys, based on the depth and diversity of their experiences, to advise students on public service careers. Typically, 7-11% of WCL graduates accept postgraduate public interest employment, far higher than the national average of 3%. For more information on the Office and the PIPS Scholarship, click
