Educational Philosophies
Before you embark on a particular method of study, you should bear in mind a few of the broad educational philosophies which constitute the framework of your legal education. The study of law
- disciplines the mind in areas of analysis, reasoning, and organization
- develops student appreciation for what types of situations create legal problems and the reason for a given rule of law, its application, and effectiveness
- considers not only what has been and what is but also what should be
- provides guidance and stimulation, rather than specific knowledge and solutions
