| Description: | The panel will feature a discussion about the impact of ethnicity and heritage on counsel and the work done on behalf of Guantanamo detainees. Speakers will include Gitanjali Guitierrez (attorney, Guantanamo Global Justice Initiative at the Center for Constitutional Rights) [TBC], Seema Ahmed (Georgetown Law Student and former paralegal with Shearman & Sterling) and Muneer Ahmad (WCL professor and counsel for Canadian detainee Omar Khadr). The panel will complement a recent event, the Guantanamo Teach- In, that occurred simultaneously on over 300 campuses, including a live webcast from WCL. A reception will follow the panel. | ||
