Professor Carroll Discusses Open Access Policy and Development at the World Bank
On Monday, the World Bank hosted an event called What the World Bank’s Open Access Policy Means for Development (you can view the video recording of the event at the link or embedded below). Participants included Peter Suber from Harvard University, Michael Carroll from American University (Mike is on the Board of Directors at Creative Commons), and Cyril Muller and Adam Wagstaff from the World Bank.

TPP Transparency Letter Covered by Ars Technica
A TPP transparency letter signed by WCL's Prof. Sean Flynn and Prof. Peter Jaszi and 30 other legal academics was covered in Ars Technica. The letter, addressed to USTR Representative Ron Kirk decried the secrecy of the ongoing TPP negotiations, and called for the release of negotiating texts, as well as the exportation of limitations and exceptions found in US IP law into into any trade agreements.

IP Brief Puts out Call For Submissions
The IP Brief has put out its call for papers for the Summer 2012 Issue. The IP Brief publishes papers that address legal topics relating to any area of intellectual property. Papers should be submitted no later than May 25, 2012.

Law Professors Declare Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement Unconstitutional Without Congressional Approval
Today, fifty U.S. legal scholars sent an open letter to the Members of the Senate Finance Committee, asking each of them to “exercise your Constitutional responsibility to ensure that the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is submitted to [Congress].”
