Faculty
The Washington College of Law (WCL) has appointed as the program director Emilio C. Viano, Professor of Justice, Law and Society at American University and adjunct professor of law at WCL. He teaches in the areas of European Union, human rights, and transnational institutions. He has earned doctoral degrees from European and American universities and a LLM (Leicester).
Also teaching in the program are:
- Kenneth Anderson, Professor of Law and Director of the JD/MBA Program, specialized in business and finance, international business, development finance, and micro-credit (J.D., Harvard Law School);
- Claudio Grossman, Claudio Grossman, Dean of the Washington College of Law, chair of the U.N. Committee against Torture, and former president of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, an experienced teacher and prolific scholar in international human rights (Doctor of the Science of Law, University of Amsterdam);
- David Hunter, Assistant Professor of Law and Director of the Environmental law Program, formerly executive director of the Center for International Environmental Law and now on theBoard of several environmental organizations (J.D., Harvard Law School); and
- Durwood Zaelke, President and Founder of the Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (INECE), former President and founder of the Center for Environmental Law (CIEL), and Adjunct Professor of Law at WCL in the areas of international environmental law, environmental dispute resolution, and air pollution law (JD, Duke Law School).
Distinguished professors and experts from various European universities and international organizations also provide instruction. Participants hear various guest speakers as well, including members of the American legal and business community in Europe.
