Deposit

A $400 deposit, refundable until April 1, 2008; a signed consent/release form; a letter of good standing/permission for non-WCL students or an unofficial transcript of grades for WCL students, must accompany the application properly filled out. Please note that only the deposit can be paid with a credit card. The balance of the bill must be paid with a check, bank transfer, money order etc.

Deadline

Enrollment is limited to ensure quality. Each elective course has a limit on the number of students that can enroll in it. Normally, applications are considered and accepted on a rolling basis (first come, first served). The preferred closing date for applications is March 17, 2008. Students are urged to apply as soon as possible.

Withdrawal

Applicants can withdraw without penalty and with full reimbursement until April 1, 2008; (date of receipt). For withdrawals on and after the dates indicated below, a higher cancellation fee is due.

Below are the cancellation fees:
After April 1, 2008; $400 non-refundable deposit
On and after April 25, 2008 25% of total fee ($2,025)
On and after May 9, 2008 50% of total fee ($4,050)
On and after May 16, 2008 75% of total fee ($6,075)
On and after May 24, 2008 100% of total fee ($8,100)

Consent and Release

Students accepted in the program are required to execute a statement consenting to urgent medical treatment authorized if needed by the program director or other faculty; releasing the American University and the Washington College of law, the director of the program and the professors from liability should an accident, etc. occur during the program abroad; and also committing to follow AU/WCL Codes of Conduct. Please read the consent and release form carefully before signing it.
