Kevin J. Scheid currently serves on the intelligence community staff in the office
of the Director of Central Intelligence. During the past two years, he led the
investigation into the performance of the Intelligence Community for the 9/11
Commission. Working with his team, he prepared the intelligence reform recommendations
of the 9/11 Commission, which were largely accepted by Congress and enacted into
law on December 17th. Prior to his work on the 9/11 Commission, Scheid served
as Staff Director to General Brent Scowcroft who led President Bush’s review
of US intelligence during the summer of 2001. He has served on the DCI’s
staff for six years. He began his career at the White House Office of Management
and Budget where he served for eleven years. A graduate of the University of Texas
at Austin, he holds a B.A. in Economics and an M.A. in Public Affairs from the
Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs.
