Randolph H. Pherson formed Pherson Associates in 2003 following a 28-year career
in the intelligence community, where he last served as National Intelligence Officer
for Latin America. Since retiring in 2000, he has led studies on critical intelligence
issues on behalf of the Associate Director of Central Intelligence for Collection
and conceptualized, developed, and taught courses on analytic techniques for the
FBI, CIA, NSA, and the military. Pherson is a consultant to the Department of
Homeland Security and has partnered with the MITRE Corporation and Booz/Allen/Hamilton.
Former Chief of the Strategic Planning and Management Staff under the Deputy Director
for Planning and Coordination, Pherson also managed the production of intelligence
analysis on a number of topics. The recipient of the Distinguished Intelligence
Medal and the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal, Pherson received an A.B.
from Dartmouth College and an M.A. in International Relations from Yale University.
