Valerie Caproni, Esq., is General Counsel of the FBI. She previously served as
counsel at the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, specializing in white
collar criminal defense and SEC enforcement actions, and as the regional director
of the Pacific Regional Office of the SEC. At the SEC, Ms. Caproni increased dramatically
the cooperation between the SEC and federal prosecutors in order to maximize the
impact of enforcement actions while overseeing the enforcement and regulatory
programs in nine states. Caproni received a B.A. in Psychology from Tulane University
and a J.D. from the University of Georgia.
