Health Law & Policy

In the spring of 2007, Health Law & Policy (HLP) became the first publication disseminated by American University Washington College of Law (WCL) dedicated to the rapidly emerging and increasingly prominent field of health law. HLP was founded by three WCL students, and is currently staffed by 20 students and growing. The publication compliments WCL's growing health law program and is supervised by Professor Corrine Parver, Practitioner-in-Residence and Executive Director of the Health Law Project LL.M. Program on Law and Government. HLP also coincides with the annual WCL Founder's Day health law symposium. Now in its second year of publication, HLP continues to provide informative works from health care practitioners, attorneys, and students on cutting-edge legal and policy issues such as bioethics, managed care, international and public health, liability, disability law, and food and drug law, among others, and features columns highlighting important issues in the field as well as health care regulatory updates. HLP publishes two issues per academic year. The fourth issue of HLP will be published in Fall 2008.
