A former Dwight Correctional Center inmate has filed a lawsuit against several facility employees alleging that a group of correctional officers sexually assaulted her at least 29 times over several months. She claims that the incidents were reported more than 20 times to the facilities internal affairs unit and that she sent three emergency grievances to the warden but never received a response. Since her release, she has given birth to a child conceived during her stay at the facility and will undergo DNA testing to identify which of the accused officers is the father.
