About The Program
NAFTA Lex was launched in 1995 as the first legal consortium of its kind. In order to promote academic mobility, law schools in Canada, Mexico, and the United States formed a partnership to create opportunities for student exchange with the long-term goal of institutionalizing efforts to develop collaborative research and curriculum that transcend the traditional classroom model. Under the title of "Law School Cooperation and North American Integration," the NAFTA Lex consortium provides academic opportunities and promotes professional development for its law students. NAFTA Lex offers law students a dynamic academic interchange that introduces disparate laws, practices, and cultures.
Under the auspices of this program, students are eligible to spend one semester at one of the partnering law schools listed below:
