The Carnegie Institution’s Carnegie Academy of Science Education (CASE) has launched the Math for America Fellowship Program in Washington, D.C.
MƒA DC’s goal is to ensure excellence in mathematics teaching in D.C. public and public charter secondary schools by recruiting, training, and retaining 34 talented mathematics teachers over a 5-year period.

MƒA DC will recruit fellows who demonstrate both mathematical talent and a strong commitment to the teaching profession and service in D.C. Fellows will participate in a Masters degree program in Secondary Education - Math Teaching provided by MƒA DC partner American University.

After training and certification, Fellows will teach math in D.C. for at least 4 years. MƒA DC’s first cohort of six fellows will start in the spring of 2009.Contact
