S.J.D. Degree Program

All SJD students attend a mandatory orientation, and they are encouraged to meet with their faculty advisors twice each semester. Each student is expected to complete a Semester Progress Plan early in each academic semester. This form requires a report of progress made in researching and drafting the dissertation, a detailed plan of action for the ensuing semester, and includes a section for semester planning for the faculty advisor. The form can be completed electronically as well as in hard copy. Generally, students are expected to complete the degree in three years. Please see the timeline for the recommended course of study.
