Directions by Car

From northeast of Washington (New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore)
Follow Interstate 95 South to Interstate 495, the Capital Beltway. Follow I-495 West toward Silver Spring. See directions below,

From south or west of Washington (Norfolk, Richmond, Charlottesville)
Follow Interstate 95 North or Interstate 66 East to Interstate 495, the Capital Beltway. Follow I-495 North to Exit 39. See directions below, “From I-495.”

From northwest of Washington (western Pennsylvania, western Maryland)
Follow Interstate 270 South. Where I-270 divides, follow the right-hand branch toward Northern Virginia/I-495 South (not toward Washington). Merge with Interstate 495, the Capital Beltway. See directions below, “From I-495.”

From Interstate 495, The Capital Beltway
Take Exit 39 and carefully follow the signs for River Road (Maryland Route 190) east toward Washington. Continue south toward Washington on River Road to the fifth traffic light. Turn right on Goldsboro Road (Maryland route 614). At the first traffic light, turn left onto Massachusetts Avenue (Maryland Route 396). Continue down Massachusetts Avenue for about two miles. At the Maryland-Washington border, pass through Westmorland Circle. Proceed through the traffic circle, staying on Massachusetts Avenue. The law school is on your left, about a ½ mile from Westmoreland Circle. The laws school is a six-story brick building on the corner of 48th Street and Massachusetts Avenue.


Directions by Metrorail to AU WCL and Shuttle Service from Tenleytown Metro

Take the Red Line to the Tenleytown/AU station. At the top of the first escalator, walk left toward the east exit and another escalator. Emerging from the metro station, walk straight ahead while looking for signs for the AU shuttle stop. This is the pickup location for the main campus. The WCL Direct Shuttle will pick up at the corner of 40th St. and Albemarle St. (across the street from the AU main campus shuttle stop). Please check with the driver to be sure you are on the correct bus.
The WCL Direct Shuttle runs Mondays-Fridays every 30 minutes between 8 am-12:30 am, with additional shuttles every 15 minutes between 8:00 am-Noon and 4:00 pm-8:00 pm during the fall and spring semesters.
