American University Washington College of Law Dean Claudio Grossman hosted the first conference of the International Consortium on Legal Education October 14-15, 2004, during the fall of 2004. The aim of the Consortium is to deepen and expand academic links throughout the world in the promotion of the internationalization of legal education. The Consortium will seek to build on various frameworks for improving legal curricula, develop student and faculty models of exchange, and establish innovative joint research activities.

The Conference

The Conference offered a forum for the exchange of ideas and created new avenues of cooperation. The two-day Conference opened on October 14 at the Washington College of Law. The agenda consisted of morning and afternoon panels that provided opportunities to learn about each other's international activities, consider ways to enhance our current programs, and develop new models for collaborative research, scholarship, and curricular development.
