AUWCL will welcome Harold Koh, former legal adviser to the U.S. Department of State and professor of international law at Yale Law School, as the Spring 2013 commencement speaker. The law school's commencement will be held May 19 at 1 p.m at American University's Bender Arena. MORE
American University Washington College of Law and Dean Claudio Grossman will welcome graduates, their families, and friends to a reception at the Organization of American States in honor of commencement. The reception will be held Saturday, May 18, and is an opportunity to celebrate student accomplishments in a spectacular setting. Dean Grossman will also host a graduation brunch on Sunday, May 19 for faculty and invited guests. Guests include members of the class of 1963 celebrating their 50th reunion, and legacy alumni recognizing this year's graduates.
The 18th Annual Inter-American Moot Court Competition will take place May 19-24, at AUWCL presented by the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, and co-sponsored by the Inter-American Court on Human Rights. The trilingual competition will see 98 participating teams from a record number of 27 different countries involving more than 300 students, professors, and human rights professionals. MORE
