Dual LLM Programs

Dual LLM Exchange Programs

WCL has created dual LLM exchange programs with the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong), Yonsei University College of Law (Korea), and the University of Ottawa (Canada).  These programs allow students from these universities to obtain both an LLM in International Legal Studies from WCL and an LLM from their home university on an accelerated basis.

Dual LLM in International Legal Studies and Law & Government

Upon the successful completion the International Legal Studies Program LLM, students may apply to WCL’s Program in Law & Government.  If admitted, students take an additional 16 credits in the Program in Law & Government to earn their second LLM.  As part of their 16 credits, students are required to take the Washington Lawyer Seminar, a class that allows candidates to investigate major US legal doctrines and submit a paper that reflects original research and analysis of an issue, problem or theory dealing with US public law.  Between the two programs, students may take up to 6 credits in independent studies, externships and internships.  All other credits must be earned in classroom-based classes.

Students interested in applying to the Dual LLM must complete the Transcript Request Form and submit the completed form to the Registrars Office. Download the Transcript Request Form
