Certificate Programs

Certificate in International Legal Studies

 

Students enrolled in the Trade and Investment Law LLM Program at the University of Pretoria (South Africa), University of the Western Cape (South Africa), Makerere University (Uganda), and the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands) have the option of spending one semester at WCL.  Upon completion of their semester at WCL, participating students earn a Certificate in International Legal Studies.  Those interested in returning and completing the LLM program, may do so within two years of receiving their Certificates.

Students enrolled in JD-equivalent programs at the following universities have the option of spending one semester at WCL:

 

 

Specialization Certificates

 

ILSP students interested in concentrating on one subject area, may earn Certificates in one of the ILSP’s seven areas of specialization: International Business Law, International Human Rights Law, International Organizations, International Environmental Law, Gender & the Law, Free Trade Agreements & Regional Integration, and International & Comparative Protection of Intellectual Property.  To earn a certificate, students must complete 16 credits of course work within their specialization and must write a 20-25 page paper on their area of study.  To apply for a Specialization Certificate, please click here.
