Alumni Benefits
ILSP Alumni

  • An Alumni Card which enables you to check out books from the Pence Law Library.

  • Alumni dinners and Events: The International Legal Studies Program sponsors many alumni events throughout the world. On many occasions Dean Claudio Grossman and other professors are in attendance. Invitations are posted through the Alumni Listserv as well as sent individually to alumni in the region of the event. Alumni Liaisons often assist in the planning of these functions, and all alumni are always welcome to attend and participate in these functions.

  • An Alumni Email Address to keep you informed of important news and events.

  • ILSP Alumni Liaisons are alumni volunteers who lead Alumni Chapters all over the world. They offer alumni additional opportunities to interact with and support each other professionally, as well as plan social events. There are currently Liaisons in 33 countries. You are eligible to participate in one of the established 33 Alumni Chapters or, if there is no chapter in your region, you are welcome to serve as an Alumni Liaison and start an Alumni Chapter where you are. For more information about the Alumni Liaison program, please e-mail sedward@wcl.american.edu.

  • The ILSP Alumni Listserv: You may subscribe to this free e-mail listserv, which helps to keep our community connected. Alumni can post queries, track down information, keep up-to-date about law school events, and look for classmates just by sending an e-mail!

  • Career Services are also available to alumni by making an appointment with the Office of Career and Professional Development at American University Washington College of Law. Please contact Melanija Radnovic at the Office of Career Services & Professional Development.

  • Continuing Education: Alumni are entitled and encouraged to audit up to two classes per semester at the law school. Complete information on how to audit a class can be found online.
  • The ILSP Global Network Magazine: You will be receiving a free subscription to this biannual magazine, which features developments within the program, alumni news and profiles, faculty accomplishments, and also engages the ILSP Community in substantive discussions on various practice areas within international law.

  • InCircle is an exclusive online community that is free to law school alumni. Your free membership allows you to find your classmates; organize or join an alumni group with those who share your interests or area of practice; keep friends current with photo albums, journals, a link to your personal blog; sign up for our unique American University Washington College of Law permanent email forwarding address; and much more.
