"The Response" Film Screening

On April 1, 2009 the Center and the National Institute of Military Justice (NIMJ) co-hosted a screening of Sig Libowitz’s film “The Response” in Room 603. The movie is a courtroom drama based on the actual transcripts of the Guantanamo Bay military tribunals and was filmed over three days at the University of Maryland School of Law. It has received numerous awards and high praise from critics, academics, and members of the military. Following the screening, director Sig Libowitz and NIMJ’s Assistant Director Jonathan Tracy fielded questions from an eager audience about the film and the complex and controversial nature of military tribunals.
