Local Human Rights Lawyering Project Director and Human Rights Coordinators Present at NLADA Conference
Lauren E. Bartlett, Project Director of the Local Human Rights Lawyering Project, Reena Shah, Human Rights Project Director at Maryland Legal Aid, and Nelson Mock, Human Rights Coordinator at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, presented a workshop at the National Legal Aid and Defenders Association (NLADA) annual conference in Chicago, IL, on December 5, 2012. The NLADA is the largest nonprofit association dedicated to legal services for the poor and the annual conference is attended by thousands of legal aid attorneys and public defenders from across the U.S. The presentation was entitled “Expanding the Toolbox: Using Human Rights in Legal Aid” and was attended by over 25 legal aid attorneys.
