Visiting Human Rights Faculty from Partner Universities in Colombia Participate in Intensive Summer Programming at WCL
The Center’sColombia-U.S. Human Rights Education Projectrecently concluded an extended study visit with students and professors from partner law schoolsPontificia Universidad Javeriana CaliandUniversidad Santiago de Cali, both of Cali, Colombia. In May, teams from both schools participated in the annual Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition, with students from Santiago de Cali competing for the second time in last decade and thePontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali teamreaching the Competition’s semi-final round.
In late May, professors from both universities arrived in Washington, D.C. to participate in theAcademy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law’s Program of Advanced Studies on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, as well as a specialized Legal English course with a focus on human rights. The Center was excited to host the partners and share some DC summer activities with them—all this in addition to other faculty training workshops and a host of activities that took place during the 2013-2014 academic year.
