Tuition & Expenses

Tuition for the program will be the normal WCL tuition and will be paid directly to WCL. In addition, the cost of travel, books, housing, meals and personal expenses need to be added.

Anticipated student expenses amount is approximately $900. For specific budget information, download the finance handout developed by City U. of Hong Kong at http://www.cityu.edu.hk/sds/nls/index.htm.

Housing and Health

Exchange students at CityU are housed at the newly-completed on-campus Centre for Academic Exchange, a facility dedicated to providing living accommodations for exchange students and visiting scholars. In the Centre, students occupy comfortable private rooms with access to shared bathrooms, kitchens and laundry facilities. Students are responsible for the cost of housing - however, it should be noted that the cost of accommodations is extremely reasonable by Hong Kong standards!

Although emergency health services for minor complaints may be available at City U, students participating in the Cooperative Program should check their health insurance policies and, where necessary, arrange for additional private insurance covering treatment for more serious illnesses and/or hospitalization in Hong Kong, and (if desired) for medical repatriation to the United States. If the recent SARS outbreak is a concern, consult the most up to date information on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention web site at http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/sars/travel.htm. Medical care expenses are the responsibility of individual participants, not that of WCL or CityU.
