In addition to course work, WCL students also will participate in a series of organized visits to sites of legal interest, including the Legislative Council, the Supreme court, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center, and the Stock Exchange.
Opportunities exist for WCL students to combine their studies with non-credit externships in law firms and other Hong Kong law practice settings. Professor Bryan Bachner, the Director of the exchange program at CityU, has arranged a special exemption from work permit requirements for students wishing to pursue an externship, and he will assist those students in finding appropriate placements. Those interested in this option should indicate so on their applications. They are encouraged to contact Professor Bachner as soon as possible after they have been notified of admission to the program.
