Advocacy Before Regional Human Rights Bodies: A Cross-Regional Agenda, Oct. 20

American University Washington College of Law, with the Inter-American Commission & Court on Human Rights, will host the MacArthur International Justice Lecture Series’ “Advocacy Before Regional Human Rights Bodies: A Cross-Regional Agenda,” Monday, Oct. 20, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Rm. 603. Conference will be followed by a dinner at the Organization of American States featuring Keynote Address by International Center for Transitional Justice President Juan E. Méndez. WCL Alumni Open House Highlights New Courtroom, Oct. 17

American University Washington College of Law will host an alumni open house at the law school on October 17, from 6 PM – 9 PM, 4801 Massachusetts Ave., NW. Multiple groups will hold receptions throughout the evening, including the International Legal Studies Program, Law & Government Program, WCL Clinics, and Student Bar Association. The event will also highlight WCL’s newly redesigned and rebuilt Weinstein Courtroom.  All alumni are invited to attend. RSVP.


Fourth Annual Finnegan Distinguished Lecture on Intellectual Property, Oct. 21

Professor Daniel J. Gervais will be the 4th annual Finnegan Distinguished Lecturer in Intellectual Property at American University Washington College of Law on October 21. The lecture, sponsored by WCL’s Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property, will be titled “TRIPS 3.0.” Prof. Gervais is the author of the leading treatise on the history and interpretation of the TRIPS agreement and Editor in Chief of the Journal of World Intellectual Property.
