Gender Perspectives Across the World Seminar

Each year, Washington College of Law is host to LL.M. students and visiting scholars from across the world who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding gender, sexuality and women’s rights.  Our students take demanding classes, and many have internships or jobs addressing gender issues in advocacy organizations, development institutions, or law firms.

The Gender Perspectives Across the World seminar is a unique opportunity designed specifically for our LL.M. students to integrate what they know about the interaction of gender and law in their home countries with the knowledge that they acquire in their course of study and practice.

The year-long course is driven by the energy and interests of the students-students organize site visits, make class presentations, and lead discussions. Students support each other as they write publishable-quality theses that address gender and international or comparative law.
