LL.M. in Law and Government- Specialization in Gender and Law
Degree Requirements
- In order to be eligible to attend the Law and Government LL.M. program, applicants must have completed a law degree either at a U.S. law school accredited by the ABA or at a foreign law school with equivalent standards.
- The Gender and the Law specialization falls under the Law and Government Program’s Civil and Constitutional Rights concentration area. To receive the LL.M. degree, a student must earn at least 24 course credits, 12 of which must be in Gender and Law Specialization Courses.
- The Washington College of Law approach to the study of gender and law is to offer both general and specialized courses that address women’s rights. Those who do not have an extensive background in gender studies prior to enrolling in the program may find it useful to take our introductory Gender and Law course.
- So that they are able to integrate legal theory with their other course work, all of our Gender and Law specialists enroll in Feminist Jurisprudence in the Spring semester, and are encouraged to participate in the year-long Gender Perspectives Across the World Seminar.
