RULES

• The competition is open to all law students at U.S. and Canadian law schools
• Entries should reflect a creative feminist approach to the law.
• Entries must be original, unpublished work.
• Entries must not exceed 50 pages, including notes.
• Co-authored essays are allowed
• Submissions will be judged by a panel of scholars and attorneys.
• The winning author will be invited to Washington College of Law to receive the award during the academic year.

HOW TO SUBMIT

For all submissions please include a cover letter. In your cover letter be sure to include:

1. All of your contact information (name, address, phone number)
2. The name of the Law School where you are currently enrolled and your graduation year.

Online Submissions:

Please email your entry (with cover letter) to apessaycontest@wcl.american.edu. A confirmation email will be sent to you acknowledging the receipt of your entry.

Mail Submissions:

If you do not wish to submit your entry online, you may send a hard copy to the following address:

PRIZE

A prize of $1,000 will be awarded for one winning entry.

The prize will be awarded to the winner upon their presentation of her or his work at American University Washington College of Law.
