The Collaborative Research Network on Gender and the Law
The Collaborative Research Network on Gender and the Law (CRN), coordinated by the Women and International Law Program, provides an ongoing forum for feminist legal educators and advocates from various regions of the world to share experiences with mainstreaming gender into legal education, and to discuss the development of legal scholarship and teaching materials that adequately address issues of gender and the law in particular cultural contexts. The CRN includes an ongoing electronic dialogue on gender throughout the year, culminating in an annual roundtable discussion at the annual meeting of the Law and Society Association, a mutli-disciplinary organization for legal educators and scholars working to integrate gender into legal education around the world. As the CRN sponsor, WILP brings together legal scholars and practitioners, manages electronic communication, and coordinates an annual round table at the Law and Society Annual Meetings.

The Law and Society Association Annual Meeting, 2005
The 2005 CRN roundtable occurred at the Law and Society Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, in June 2005. Women and International Law Program Coordinator, April Fehling, chaired the panel, and Domestic Violence Clinic Director Margaret Johnson participated. The panel also included professors from New York University School of Law; Seattle University School of Law; University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law; University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law; The University of Sydney Law School; and University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law. Panelists discussed such critical issues as the importance of mentoring in supporting feminist educators, the positive role that feminist deans can play in promoting structures that support feminist teaching, and effective strategies for integrating feminist perspectives into the core legal curriculum.
