Ved Kumari is Professor of Law in Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, India where she joined as lecturer in 1985. She did her LL.M. (1981) and Ph. D. (1994) from the same university. She taught in the Faculty of Law in the University of Jammu between1983-1985. She was a Fulbright Fellow in Vanderbilt University, USA, in 1997 and a Commonwealth Fellow in Warwick University, UK in 1998. Professor Ved Kumari's areas of interest are juvenile justice, criminal law, gender discrimination, and clinical education, and she has many articles and research papers published in these areas in internationally acclaimed journals. Her books, treatise on the juvenile justice act (Indian Law Institute) and Juvenile Justice System In India: From Welfare To Rights (Oxford University Press) have been widely acclaimed. She alongwith Professor Susan Brooks, Vanderbilt University, USA have edited another book Creative Child Advocacy: Global Perspectives (Sage Publications). She has participated in many national and international train-the-trainer workshops.
