Adjunct Instructor Jennifer Toole is an attorney-adviser at the U.S. Department of State in the Office of the Legal Adviser. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and received her law degree from American University's Washington College of Law in 2001. Following her graduation from law school, she joined the Department of State's Office of the Legal Adviser, where she has specialized in investor-State arbitration matters for the past four and a half years. Presently, Ms. Toole manages the torts portfolio at the Department of State and is a team leader in the defense of claims filed by Iran against the United States before the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal in the Hague. Ms. Toole was an adjunct instructor in the Legal Rhetoric and Writing Program in 2001 and 2002. She rejoined the Program in 2006.
