Richard Schneider was appointed Administrative Judge for the Equal Employment Op-portunity Commission in 1999. As such, he hears complaints of discrimination brought by employees of the Federal government.
Previously, Mr. Schneider was an EEO Supervisory Specialist and EEO Specialist at the United States Bureau of the Census. He was the head trainer for all EEO matters nationwide for the Census. As supervisor, he began the task of creating procedures and recruiting staff for the 2000 Census.
Before that, Mr. Schneider was an attorney for the United States Department of Com-merce, Employment and Labor Law Division. There, Mr. Schneider represented the Department in labor matters before the EEOC, the Merit Systems Protection Board, the Federal Labor Relations Authority, and in labor arbitrations.
Judge Schneider is a member of the Virginia and Maryland Bars. He is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Virginia and for the District of Maryland; the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
