Ahaviah Glaser

Adjunct Professor of Law

Ahaviah Diane Glaser has been teaching health law and legal ethics at Washington College of Law since January, 2006. Currently, she also is a senior member of the Health and Long Term Care Team at AARP where she has served as the lead federal lobbyist for the Association on pharmaceutical issues, Medicare and Medicaid.

Ms. Glaser received her juris doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School and her bachelor of science degree from the University of California at Berkeley. She began her career as a litigation associate, first at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in San Francisco and then at Hale and Dorr in Boston, and she is a nationally recognized legal writer.

While working at these firms, Ms. Glaser did extensive pro bono work in the areas of civil rights and access to health care and was a frequent lecturer at local law schools and schools of public health. In 2001, she moved into the practice of health law full-time, heading up the Prescription Access Litigation Project of Community Catalyst and the National Health Law Program. In 2004, Ms. Glaser transitioned back to Washington, DC where she worked at the National Womens Law Center as Senior Counsel for Health and Reproductive Rights prior to joining AARP.
