David O’Brien has practiced law since 1992, specializing in litigation. Most recently, he was Chief Counsel for the Missing Children Division of the National Center For Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), where he managed NCMEC's International Division and presided over its expansion into NCMEC's Family Abduction Unit, which provided extensive resources and expertise to parents, law enforcement, and attorneys involved in U.S. domestic and international child abduction matters. Prior to joining NCMEC, David was Chief Litigation Counsel at Wachovia Securities, at that time, the nation’s third largest securities broker-dealer. At Wachovia he oversaw the company’s litigation portfolio and supervised a team of attorneys and other professionals responsible for managing court litigation and arbitration matters. He also advised senior management on general legal, compliance, and regulatory matters as well as risk management. Prior to Wachovia, David was Special Counsel at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati representing companies and individuals in securities litigation, class actions, shareholder derivative litigation, SEC enforcement matters, white-collar criminal cases, and complex commercial litigation.
