Dr. Renata Brazil David assists Prof. Perry Wallace in teaching the Business Law Concepts in International Commercial and Investment Arbitration course for the online program.
Dr. Brazil David is the Director of Legal Affairs of the International Telecommunication Satellite Organization (ITSO), an intergovernmental organization with 149 member countries. She is a Brazilian national, who received legal education in Brazil, England and the US. She holds a LL.M. in International Trade Law from the University of Essex in England and a S.J.D. (Ph.D. in Law) from American University Washington College of Law.
In addition to her experience at ITSO, Dr. Brazil David founded the worked as the Associate Director of the Brazil-US Legal and Judicial Studies Program in Washington DC, as a Lead Researcher at the Center of International Commercial Arbitration in Washington DC and taught Constitutional Law and Portuguese at the University of Essex. She also worked as a consultant for William & Connolly LLP advising them on arbitration and Brazil related matters.
Dr. Brazil David has several years of experience in legal research, she is an Adjunct Faculty at American University where she teaches Business Law and Arbitration at the Online Course, Individual Rights and Guarantees at the Summer Course on Brazil-US Legal and Judicial Systems and she is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Brazil-US Legal and Judicial Studies Program at American University. She has published articles on Arbitration in leading law journals and she is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English, with intermediate abilities in French.
