Kate Bunker began teaching in the WCL Civil Practice Clinic as a visiting associate professor in 1999. As practitioner-in-residence, she teaches student attorneys representing low-income clients in a variety of civil matters, including employment discrimination, disability, housing, public benefits, consumer, adoption and domestic relations in the state and federal courts and administrative agencies in Maryland and D.C. She also has taught Legal Ethics and has a particular interest in the interrelationship among legal ethics, professionalism and clinical teaching. She was formerly an associate professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law where she taught primarily in the clinical program. She began clinical teaching at the Arizona State University College of Law after practicing with the litigation section of Steptoe & Johnson and serving as law clerk to the Hon. Kenneth F. Ripple of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
