Faculty - Richard Wilson
Richard Wilson is a Professor of Law. He received his B.A. from DePauw University in 1965 and
his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of
Law in 1972. He currently teaches the International Human Rights Clinic, Advanced Criminal Procedure, and
Comparative Criminal Procedure. He was a
Peace Corps volunteer and trainer in Panama and Puerto Rico from 1966-69; a
Fulbright
fellow in Colombia in 1987; a Public defender in the office of
Office of the Illinois Appellate
Defender from 1972-80; and the Director of the
Defender Division at the National Legal Aid and Defender Association from
1980-85 where he received the Outstanding Service Award in 1984. He was
an Associate professor of law at
C.U.N.Y Law School at Queens College from 1985 to 1989. Professor Wilson has frequently served as a
consultant to public defender programs in the United States and the
development of legal aid programs and clinical legal education in
Central and South America.
