University Carlos III (UC3)

The Universidad Carlos III de Madrid was founded in 1989 with the objective of providing an efficient, high quality public undegraduate and graduate education. The philosophy that has guided the university since its origins is one of creating responsible free-thinking people with a sensitivity to social problems and an involvement in the concept of progress based on freedom, justice and tolerance.

The university's three campuses lie in the municipalities of Getafe, Leganés and Colmenarejo. The adjacent towns of Getafe and Leganés are located 10 km to the south of Madrid and each of them has a population of about 150,000 inhabitants. Colmenarejo, is located 35 km to the northwest of the capital. All the campuses are easily accessible by car, bus, subway or train, and their state-of-the-art buildings are surrounded by wide green spaces.
