Application Process
ATTENTION: Students interested in applying for our programs in Spain must take the DELE exam (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera). Students must register for the exam before October 12 2007. Date of the exam is November 10, 2007 at the Spanish Embassy, Consejería de Educación, 2372 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20037. Students must be admitted to WCL's regular JD program before applying to any international JD dual degree program.
This program is open to first year WCL students in good academic standing who are bilingual (Spanish and English) or have excellent written and oral Spanish skills.
The application process will be completely conducted in Spanish. The Program Director at WCL, or another person designated for this role, may conduct an interview in Spanish and may require additional documentation about the student's knowledge of the language.
WHEN TO APPLY
Students must apply during their first year at WCL to begin the program a UC3 during their third year of law school.
DEADLINE: Friday, January 30, 2009 at 5pm.
Once accepted in the program, no further application to UC3 is necessary.
APPLICATION PACKAGE
- UC3 Application
- Consent and release form duly signed.
- Statement of interest. One copy in English and one in Spanish. Please submit a brief statement of no more than a page describing your professional interests and goals. You should include your reasons for applying for this program.
- Current resume.
- WCL academic transcripts from first semester.
- Proof of Spanish proficiency: Students must show that they have approved the Nivel Intermedio of the DELE exam. On a case by case basis, students who at the time of the application have not passed the exam may be allowed to apply. Their admission to the program, however, will be conditioned to passing the DELE exam before June 2009. Students with an approved DELE prior to applying for the program, however, will have priority over applicants without the required DELE score. In all cases the Program Director may require an interview in Spanish.
