Dean's Diversity Council
The council was founded in the fall of 2001. DDC members - individually and collectively - assist with a range of efforts designed to help ensure that students from underrepresented and disadvantaged communities apply to and succeed in law school, at the bar exam, and in the profession. Thus, members volunteer for activities such as mentoring, participation in law school programs, pre-law advisement, and job-search counseling. During AY 2004-05, for example, the Office of Diversity Services enlisted the collaboration of the DDC to initiate the Dean's Diversity Council Speaker Series through which members of the group come in each semester to speak on a topic of their choice. Council membership includes judges, alumni, faculty, lawyers employed in various practice areas, and friends of the law school.
