|---|---|---|---|
| Description: | During this program, Deborah Epstein Henry, Founder and President of Flex-Time Lawyers, will report on the data and trends she identified with Working Mother magazine in conducting the 2008 national survey of Best Law Firms for Women. These 2008 findings on work/life balance and women's issues will be highlighted and compared to last year's Best Law Firms for Women numbers to track the benchmarking changes in the profession. Ms. Henry will also share indicia of what makes a woman-friendly employer based on "The Cheat Sheet," a guide to selecting, creating, and ensuring a woman-friendly employer that she released with the New York City Bar Association. Attendees will hear from a panel about best practices and innovations they have in place to help retain and promote female talent. Ms. Henry and the panel will also talk more broadly about converging factors that will help improve the status of women in the profession, including: competition as an instrument of change; accountability through benchmarking; empowerment of lawyers through information sharing; and, women law students as pressure points for change. | ||
