Bread for the City: Kenilworth-Parkside Canvassing

Posted by OPI at 1:52 PM in Pro Bono Honors Pledge

In conjunction with the DC Promise Neighborhood Initiative, Bread for the City is starting Legal Intake Clinics in the Kenilworth-Parkside neighborhood in Northeast. The DC Promise Neighborhoods is a federal grant program through the Department of Education that is based on the Harlem Children's Zone, which aims to create place-based and school-based models for community change.

BFC is looking for volunteers to help conduct a legal needs assessment of the neighborhood on Saturday, October 27th from 11:30am-4pm. Volunteers will go canvassing in groups of two or more.  Volunteers are not required to stay for the entire time but must arrive at 11:30am to get their materials and assignments. Kenilworth-Parkside is located between the Minnesota Avenue and Deanwood Metro stops on the orange line. Volunteers will receive specific instructions regarding where to meet as the time gets near. Please show your school spirit and wear collegiate apparel! Interested? Contact Taylor Healy at thealy@breadforthecity.org and let her know your availability.
